| | Beauty Fierce as Stars: Groundbreaking Women Painters 1950s and Beyond May 9 - June 21 Opening Reception Friday, May 9 5:30 to 8:30 This exhibition is the first of two to showcase a sampling of Women Painters who arose out of the Abstract Expressionist and Figurative movements of the 1950s, a period, which on the surface often appears to be largely dominated by men. We will be highlighting a few of the women during this period, who were often behind the scenes, and women in subsequent generations who continued on in these traditions.
