Friday September 25, 7pm: Poetry Reading; Kay Licina and Daniel Marlin. Kay Licina will read from her book of translations of the French poet,
Michel Mathieu, There is an Island (Il y a une Ile), accompanied by her French editor, Claudia Huguenin-Le Lay, who will read from the French. Daniel Marlin,
poet and artist, author of Heart of Ardor Paintings of Daniel Marlin and Amagasaki Sketchbook, will read from his body of works of poetry,
including Isaiah at the Wall. Palestine Poems. Refreshments. Free.
Friday October 2, 7pm: Lecture/Poetry Reading/Song: Essence of the Upanishads, Breath of the Eternal. Long time student of Indian philosophy and literature and Executive director of Niroga Institute, Bidyut Bose, will discuss and read from the ancient text and explore it's relevance to the world today. Sanskrit chants included. Refreshments. Free.
Friday October 9, 6:30pm: Poetry Reading and Short Film: The life of Richard O. Moore (1920-2915) the great poet, filmmaker and one of the Founders of KPFA (America's first public radio station), will be celebrated. Brenda Hillman, Garrett Caples and Paul Ebencamp, editors of Writing the Silences and Particulars of Place. will read from these, the last two collections of Richard's poetry, Flinn Moore Rauck will share recollections of her father and favorite poems. The event will include a screening of a Richard O. Moore short film from his Poetry USA series. Refreshments. David Reid hosts. $10 sliding scale at the door
Saturday October 10, 2-5pm: Closing Day Party. Singer/songwriter, Chie Treagus, will provide musical entertainment. Refreshments. Free.
