Mythos Gallery's first show in collaboration with the Firehouse North Gallery, titled 'Rebels, Hipsters, and Visionaries:  Bay Area Poets and Artists, 1950s and 60s', will begin on January 10, 2014 and will continue through February 23.  We will be exhibiting paintings, collages, posters, broadsides, ephemera and collectible curiosities from the 1950s-1960s, including work by David Meltzer, George Herms, Jack Hirschman, Wallace Berman, Philip Whalen, Michael McClure, William Margolis, Lawrence Jordan, Patricia Jordan, Joanne Kyger, Madeline Gleason, Robert Duncan, Ariel, and others. We will also be featuring poetry readings by surprise poets and film screenings on the Beat Era by Mary Kerr and Richard O. Moore.  Two seminars will be held by David Meltzer.
The poster to the right shows a painting of Allen Ginsberg at 25 by Ariel and is from a previous show at the old Mythos Gallery on Solano Ave. Copies will be available.   Look for more information to come on this new website.
